It covers area of 14.4 square kilometers (5.6sq miles, it’s the last remains of large indigenous forest which used to cover most of Pemba, Ngesi is a house to Pemba flying fox, Hawks, Pemba velvet monkey, The forest is protected area on the east side of Ngesi peninsula is wumawimbi beach with miles of white sand flanked by pristine forest.
